The Yellow Rose In the
midst of the forever night,
A word
was spoken, and there was light. And on
that first day, as the sun arose, God
knew he had to create a yellow rose. So
within his heart, he formed a plan, To create
a heaven, and an earth, and a man. On the
earth did life begin, With
the rose of light, a gift from him. Around
the rose he grew a garden, To
show the rose the state his heart was in. And
from the earth, he took some dust, Formed
a man, and gave him his trust. In the
garden was the man to tend, The
yellow rose of God, to each day’s end. And
for this trust, the man was given, God’s
promise of a little piece of the rose of Eden. God
knew that in order to finish his plan, He had
to create a woman for the man. While
gazing upon the beauty of his rose, God
began the very first words of prose. And in
the garden of Eden that day, God
completed the world’s very first play. As the
words took form, on that sixth day’s eve, Woman
was born, as beautiful as a poem can be. Marc
